Individual Counseling in Meridian, Idaho
A Space to Be Heard, Understood, and Supported
Life doesn't always go the way we expect. Sometimes we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or simply exhausted from trying to carry everything on our own. Other times, we know something isn't quite right, but we can't put our finger on why.
Individual counseling provides a confidential, supportive space where you can slow down, explore your experiences without judgment, and begin making meaningful changes. Whether you're navigating a difficult season or seeking personal growth, therapy offers the opportunity to better understand yourself, strengthen your resilience, and move toward the life you want to live.
At Willow and Stone Counseling, I work with adolescents and adults throughout Meridian, Boise, Eagle, Kuna, Nampa, and the surrounding Treasure Valley communities. Telehealth counseling is also available throughout Idaho.

My Approach To Individual Counseling
No two people have the same story, which is why I believe therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. I tailor counseling to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals, creating an approach that meets you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be. My role is not to tell you what to do or have all the answers. Instead, I strive to create a collaborative, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Together, we'll explore the challenges you're facing, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that support lasting growth and healing. Below are some of the main approaches I utilize, but we will work together to find the approaches that support you best.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - CBT helps identify unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that may contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotional challenges. By learning to recognize these patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking, many clients experience greater emotional balance and confidence in managing life's difficulties.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)- DBT focuses on building practical skills to manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, increase distress tolerance, and develop mindfulness. These skills can be especially helpful when emotions feel intense or difficult to navigate.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) - Internal Family Systems (IFS) is based on the understanding that we all have different "parts" of ourselves that influence how we think, feel, and respond to life's experiences. You may recognize parts that are critical, perfectionistic, protective, people-pleasing, or carrying emotional pain. Rather than trying to get rid of these parts, IFS helps you understand them with curiosity and compassion, allowing you to heal underlying wounds, strengthen self-awareness, and develop a greater sense of balance, confidence, and inner peace.
Strengths-Based Therapy - I believe every person has strengths, resilience, and resources that can support healing—even if they don't feel that way right now. Rather than focusing solely on problems, a strengths-based approach helps identify what is already working, build confidence, and use your existing abilities to create meaningful, lasting change.
Person-Centered Therapy - Healing begins with feeling genuinely heard, accepted, and understood. Person-centered therapy provides a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace while developing greater self-awareness, confidence, and personal growth.
Motivational Interviewing - Change can feel overwhelming, especially when part of you wants something to be different while another part feels uncertain or stuck. Motivational Interviewing helps explore that ambivalence without judgment, strengthening your own motivation and confidence to make meaningful changes that align with your values and goals.
