Couples Counseling in Meridian, Idaho
Rebuilding Connection, Communication, and Trust
Every relationship experiences challenges. Even couples who deeply love each other can find themselves caught in patterns of conflict, feeling disconnected, or struggling to understand one another.
Couples counseling provides a supportive, neutral space where partners can slow down, feel heard, and begin working toward a healthier, more connected relationship. Whether you are experiencing ongoing conflict, communication struggles, trust concerns, recovering from infidelity, parenting challenges, or simply want to strengthen your relationship, therapy can help you better understand each other and create meaningful change.
At Willow and Stone Counseling, I work with couples throughout Meridian, Boise, Eagle, Kuna, Nampa, and surrounding Treasure Valley communities. Telehealth counseling is also available throughout Idaho.
Couples therapy can support partners navigating:
Communication difficulties
Frequent arguments or recurring conflict
Feeling emotionally disconnected
Trust concerns
Infidelity recovery
Difficulty resolving differences
Intimacy and connection challenges
Major life transitions
Parenting differences
Premarital concerns
Rebuilding friendship and partnership
You do not have to wait until your relationship is in crisis to seek support. Many couples benefit from therapy as a way to strengthen their relationship, improve communication, and build a stronger foundation for the future.
What Can Couples Counseling Help With?
My Approach To Couples Counseling
Every relationship has its own story, shaped by each partner’s experiences, communication styles, needs, and goals. I believe couples counseling is not about finding who is right or wrong—it is about creating a space where both partners can feel heard, understood, and supported while working toward a healthier, more connected relationship.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on helping couples understand the patterns that impact their relationship. Together, we will explore communication challenges, rebuild emotional connection, strengthen trust, and develop healthier ways of navigating conflict. I support couples working through a variety of concerns, including relationship transitions, parenting challenges, family stress, and healing after experiences such as infidelity or loss of trust.
I incorporate the Gottman Method Couples Therapy approach, a research-based model developed from decades of relationship research focused on understanding what helps couples build and maintain healthy, lasting relationships.
The Gottman Method recognizes that conflict is a normal part of every relationship. The goal is not to eliminate disagreements, but to help couples learn how to navigate differences with greater understanding, respect, and connection. Through therapy, couples can identify unhelpful patterns, improve communication, strengthen emotional intimacy, and develop skills to respond to one another in more supportive ways.
Gottman Method Couples Therapy focuses on strengthening the foundation of a relationship by helping couples:
Build friendship and emotional connection
Improve communication and listening skills
Understand each other’s needs and perspectives
Manage conflict more effectively
Repair hurt and rebuild trust
Create shared meaning and goals for the future
Whether you are working through ongoing conflict, feeling disconnected, rebuilding after a breach of trust, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, the Gottman Method provides practical tools to help couples create a more secure and connected partnership
